Software Engineering Skills Development:

Over 300 resumes were received for Jan. 2010 to June 2010 semester.  One hundred and two (102) software engineers were selected for training after written test and interview. Currently 66 software engineers are continuing their training at Hidaya Institute of Science & Technology (HIST), Jamshoro, Pakistan.  Remainder of the candidates failed to meet 90% attendance criteria and were not able to continue the training.
PHP and ASP are being taught  to internees with emphasis on development skills. Majority of internees are given varying amounts of stipend  to meet their basic needs based on their economic background. All such students are given tution assistance as well to continue their learning. The next semester is expected to start in the first week of July 2010.

Basic Computer Skills:

A total of 400 youth are being offered training in Microsoft Applications during the second quarter 2010.  Below is a chart providing the number of students benifited:

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

The sister organization of Hidaya Trust, Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts of both the organizations during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. It was awarded during a special ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC.
