On February 2, 2007 torrential rains caused rivers to rise and submerge much of Jakarta under water. Over 300,000 people in the Indonesian capital were affected.  Hidaya Foundation provided aid to over affected people in Indonesia in the form of dry ration, cleaning supplies, children backpacks, uniforms, school supplies, shoes and cash assistance to help rebuild their lives. Over 600 families were supported in South Jakarta and 575 families were supported in East Jakarta.

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

The sister organization of Hidaya Trust, Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts of both the organizations during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. It was awarded during a special ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC.
