Farmers impacted by cyclone Yemyin & floods in July 2007 lost their rice crop, houses and complete livelihood.  At such occasion migration to cities and crimes normally increase.  To put back to work such Hidaya distributed 5000 bags weighing 250 metric tons (over 550,000 lbs) of wheat seed to 1250 farmers.  Each farmer was able to plant four acres of land with that seed.

Seed was distributed in Nov. 2007.  In late April 2008 farmers will be harvesting the crop.  Your Zakat saved thousands of families from complete destruction.
