Orphans, widows, poor elderly and families in extreme poverty are given assistance
Hidaya Foundation collects and distributes Zakat donations per Shariah (Islamic Law) guidelines as mentioned in Chapter 9: Verse 60 in Al Quran.

Though Zakat funds are almost always distributed directly by Hidaya Foundation, sometimes it becomes necessary to engage other reliable organizations and partners to extend Hidaya’s reach in assisting orphans, widows, poor elderly and families in extreme poverty. Zakat is distributed in the form of basic necessities such as clothing, shoes, dry ration as well as cash.

The proper distribution of Zakat is a personal responsibility. You are encouraged to give Zakat yourself, preferrably, or to a reliable organization who has the ability to distribute Zakat per Islamic guidelines.
